Italy Day 1 – Venice

So it’s been a little while since I’ve blogged and I have a lot of catching up to do.  I have been super busy with my day job and the kids going back to school.  I have missed blogging, though and I have been wanting to catch up.  I promised to blog our Italy trip and this post is from our first day in Italy.  We flew into Venice on Delta one.  I loved Venice!  I was a little jet lagged for this part of the trip, but I still really enjoyed the city.  Venice is magical.  I loved the restaurants, beaches, culture, history…everything.  So we left Atlanta on a Monday afternoon and arrived in Venice on Tuesday morning around 9am Venice time.  Because we flew Delta One our seats reclined all the way back so our plan was to sleep on the flight and once we got to Venice, check into our hotel room and then go sightseeing.  Delta One was wonderful!  I loved the food, wine, pampering, but for some reason I could not sleep.  I think I was just so excited about the trip.  Matt was able to sleep just fine.  But when we got to Venice, we decided to go sightseeing anyway and catch up on our sleep that night. When we landed in Venice, we got a water taxi that took us to our hotel. We checked into our hotel, which was the Hilton Molino Stuckey.  Our room was really nice and our hotel has a rooftop pool and bar which overlook the canals.  We dropped our bags and took another taxi to see St. Mark’s Square.  We got lunch in the square, did some sightseeing, got gelato and had wine at a cafe facing St. Mark’s Basilica.  We then went back to our hotel and had drinks at the rooftop bar and dinner.

The first dress I’m wearing in the pictures is Free People from Nordstrom (available here).  I actually wore in on the flight and kept it on for our sightseeing in Venice.  It’s so comfy and I think really cute and flattering too.

The dress I wore to dinner is Lovers and Friends from Revolve (available here ).  It’s so beautiful and one of my favorite dresses ever.  I hope you enjoyed this post.  I will post more of our Italy trip soon and I also promise to blog about our trips to Destin and Punta Cana.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

XOXO, Elizabeth
